About us The Failli Family

We are dedicated for over 40 years to the hospitality business, by running from their birth both the Hotel Sovestro

and the Ristorante da Pode.

In 2017 we decided to broaden our horizons... by buying the Fattoria Sovestro, that we have renovated and renamed "Tenuta Sovestro". Thanks to the 15 hectares of land, that make up the property of the Tenuta, we produce wine Chianti Colli Senesi,Vernaccia, Extra Virgin olive oil, besides two types of grappa.
We obtained our b&b from the 4 apartments of the estate, 3 of which are in the main house and 1 in the Dependance; the b&b includes 16 elegant, technological and functional rooms with bathroom. Every room stands out for its structural characteristics and furnishing features.

Historical notes Tenuta Sovestro

Once property of the Convent on Olivetan Friars, in 1776 it became part of the municipal patrimony of Colle di Val d'Elsa.
The original disposition of the property was near a chucrh owned by the Fathers of Saint Dominic: the oratory of Santa MAria della Neve (Holy Mary of Snow), abandoned by the Dominican Friars in 1641.

The farming tradition of these lands is documented ever since remote times. "Vitati" (vineyards), "ulivati" (olive-groves) and tillable lands are differenciated (since 1785), due to their being located south or north of the house called "Villa Sovestro".

 
 

The surroundings San Gimignano

The landscape that surrounds the elegant and sober building of Sovestro is very suggestive: from the balconies and garden one can enjoy the splendid view of stretches of land planted with vines and olive-trees, that change colour with the variations of the sunlight. Their soft reliefs attract the eye to the marvellous outline of San Gimignano.

In this enchanting place it is our custom to welcome visitors in a hall that was specially restructured, where they can taste farming products.
